The stories on TerrapinHoops consist more of players talking to the fans about updates and interesting facts about themselves, and often times encouraging fans to follow the players on their own personal Snapchats.
Although there are many benefits of Snapchat, there are also limitations that come along with it. More of the fans that TerrapinHoops and other sport teams Snapchats are connecting to are millennials. Even though millennials make up a large portion of fanbases especially in college sports , they are missing their fans who do not use or understand Snapchat.
In order to eliminate the gap of the missing fanbase on Snapchat, organizations, including Maryland and Michigan, post some of their Snapchats to other platforms to show what they post on Snapchat.

After the season hype video was release by the Maryland Terrapins Facebook page, which currently has , views, Maryland Basketball received an influx of new likes. Maryland Basketball connects with fans, new and old, on Facebook through engaging posts that bring back fond memories and also creating new viral sensations, or both at the same time.
The Terps have been in the top 10 of The AP Top 25 Poll since before the season began, creating more of a following on the Facebook page. The Facebook page continuously updates fans with recent scores of games, replays of big plays during games, pregame pictures, postgame infographics and most importantly updates on what uniforms the team will be wearing that night.
The Maryland Basketball Facebook fan page receives about new likes every week, contributing to their large social media following.
With 47, likes and an average number of likes of 1, and an even greater reach, Maryland Basketball connects with as many fans that are on Facebook. The video brought back the fond memories of Cole Field House and built on the hype that the nation has fostered for the Maryland Basketball team.
Maryland Basketball fans will continue to watch the Facebook page, waiting for the next score update, the next uniform reveal and hopefully the next National Championship team. My apologies.
